My Buffet Year transformation in action.
I used my Buffet Year commitment to try a new hobby or experience every day to design a new life. One year after launching Buffet Year, I’ve gone from feeling stuck and unmotivated to finding greater passion and joy every day. While the things I tried ranged from things that didn’t interest me at all such as needlepoint to things that made me VERY uncomfortable, I found new passions in guitar and yoga. I still approach every new experience with Eckart Tolle's modalities in mind: acceptance, enjoyment, or enthusiasm. You can try a Buffet Year too.

Day 6: Don Your Hat, DERBY
Big hats, big bets, and Mint juleps. Mage Against The Machine!
I attended the 6th Annual Kentucky Derby Twin Cities Party. Read about my adventure and check out my Instagram handle to meet special guests Chad and Brad!
Day 5: Comic cartoonist
My intentions are to become a better wordsmith every single day and paint you a picture with my words. Do you have fond memories of art in elementary school? For some reason I don’t; however, I’m fascinated by how talented some people are with their art. Since today is Cinco de Mayo and National Cartoonist Day I decided my new thing would be to draw a cartoon character.
Day 4: bird watching
Today is Day 4 of #mybuffetyear. I received feedback from the CEO of Buffet Year that my writing is very factual so today I intend to #bobross my writing. Here we go.
Day 3: Taking care of back business
After my float spa experience the day prior, I could tell my body was long overdue for a chiropractic adjustment. So today I decided to try a new chiropractor.
Day 2: Fancy a Float
As someone with no strings attached to Sanctuary Float Spa if I were you I would definitely give it a try. Not only for the mental benefits but for the physical benefits as well. Their website claims that float therapy relieves stress/anxiety, soothes chronic pain, reduces inflammation, enhances sleep time and quality, boosts energy levels and focus, and improves circulation and blood pressure.
Day 1: May Day - Buffet Day
Today I started #mybuffetyear. Happy Buffet Day! And, Happy May Day! I want to get into the habit of drawing from a hat so each new experience is a surprise, but today I chose to start with a random act of kindness by making a May Day Basket for the kids in our neighborhood.
March Sadness
As I ate my protein cookie and drank my lemon sparkling water with the Mississippi State and Pitt game on mute I had some THOT dish.
The Upper Limit Problem
In The Big Leap author, Gay Hendricks discusses the ULP (Upper Limit Problem). Hendricks says all of us have an inner thermostat setting that determines how much love, success, and creativity we allow ourselves to enjoy.
