Day 23: A bae day
Today is Day 23 of #mybuffetyear. Do you have a favorite coffee drink? Or a favorite breakfast spot? Today is Bree’s birthday and she is always up for a new adventure. So today we are trying Hope Breakfast Bar in Saint Louis Park and a new coffee beverage.
Hope Breakfast Bar currently has two locations, one in Saint Paul and Saint Louis Park. A third location is opening in Eagan next month. Hope Breakfast Bar donates 3% of all sales to neighbors in need through their non-profit, Give Hope. The birthday woman had the biscuit & gravy, which I had two bites because it was literally just one biscuit. The biscuit was super delicious- probably one of the best biscuits I’ve ever had. I had the Midwest Riviera Burger which had seared wagyu caramelized beef, bacon jam, house pickles, tomato, and cheddar cheese and came with seasoned hash browns. If you don’t like bacon/bbq flavor you probably won’t like the burger. The hash browns were delicious. Have you ever had Dutch Crunch Bistro Blend chips? The hash browns had a hint of that bistro blend seasoning. That’s what it tasted like to me.
I know comparison kills joy, but I will say it anyway. Mostly, I don’t want to forget about the time Bree, the boys, and I did brunch in Arcadia Arizona and then after that, we went and looked at a $3,000,0000 house. The restaurant was called The Spot and I had the Arcadia Burger. It was a double patty, American cheese, mustard aioli, pickles, and onion. That burger was unbelievable. It is making my mouth water right now! In Jerry Maguire, Renée Zellweger says, “You had me at hello.” Well, you have me anytime the word aioli shows up. I have never met an aioli I didn’t like.
The burger at Hope Breakfast Bar was good, but the Pistachio Cardamom espresso was heavenly and takes the cake. It was so good the birthday woman had 2. I was tempted to order a second, but I had to try the PBB & J Cold Brew. It was more of a shake consistency. Not as thick as a shake but definitely not as thin as a regular liquid cold brew. That was also super good, but I loved the Pistachio Cardamom and it might be my new favorite coffee drink. That is problematic because Hope Breakfast Bar is 35 minutes away or 33 miles. I might have to find more reasons to get over to Saint Louis Park this summer.
